Introducing TLC – our new catalog and circulation system!

TLC is mobile-friendly, easy to use and interactive, with a modern and intuitive design.  It will also be easier for you to make changes to your account online.

Both branches of the library will be closed Sunday, February 27th and Monday, February 28th.   We will be open Tuesday, March 1 and the new catalog system will be ready on Wednesday, March 2!

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Close for the Upgrade?

We have to transfer a lot of data!  There are almost 780,000 items and over 200,000 different cardholders in the library system.  We are part of a consortium of libraries that includes Kingsport, Johnson City and many other smaller libraries – our catalogs are all interconnected and we are all switching to TLC at the same time.

Why Can’t I Place Holds from February 25 until March 2?

We’re briefly pausing holds to ensure that all of the most recent information is transferred.

Do I Need A New Library Card?

No.  Your current card will still work just fine.

Will The Upgrade Affect The Items I Have On Hold?

No.  Your holds will automatically move to your TLC account, including your R.E.A.D.S. holds.

Do I Need To Do Anything After The Upgrade Happens?

Log in to your account starting March 2 to explore the new catalog and use all of TLC’s new features!

Your PIN will automatically reset to your last name in all lowercase (up to the first eight characters).  You can change it once you log in.

If you currently receive text notifications, you will need to reset that feature in your account.
