Curbside Pickup FAQ
How do I place and pick up holds using curbside pickup?

The Bristol Public Library is offering curbside pickup of materials put on hold. Between the hours of 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Saturday, patrons will be able to pick up holds they have placed using our online catalog.

  • Place your hold in our online catalog, or email reference@bristol-library.org  or call 276-645-8781 if you have item requests. Requests made after 3:00 PM may not be fulfilled until the next business day.
  • Please wait until you receive an email, text or phone call confirming your hold is ready for pick up
  • Arrive at the library and pull to the book drop (located around the back side of the building)
  • Wait in your vehicle with your driver's license or identification ready and call 276-645-8780 to let us know you are here, ready to pick up your items
  • Staff will place your items in the trunk or back seat of your vehicle
Can I return library items?

Yes, you can return your items in the book drop.

Is the Avoca Branch library also offering curbside pickup?

Yes, Avoca is also offering curbside service Monday through Thursday, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM & Friday, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

  • Place your hold in our online catalog, or email avoca@bristol-library.org or call 276-645-7506 if you have item requests
  • Please wait until you receive an email, text or phone call confirming your hold is ready for pick up
  • Arrive at the library and pull to the front entrance
  • Wait in your vehicle with your driver's license or identification ready and call 276-645-7506 to let us know you are here, ready to pick up your items
  • Staff will place your items in the trunk or back seat of your vehicle

Do I need a library account to receive items through curbside pickup?

Yes, a library account is required.

If you do not have a library account, call 276-821-6133 and we will set up a temporary account for you.

Can I place a hold on books from other libraries?

Before placing a item on hold from another library, contact that other library to ensure that the library is open and  transferring items for holds.

Can you fax or print something for me?

We are not offering curbside fax services.

We can print PDF files that you email to reference@bristol-library.org for curbside pick-up, and we will charge your account for the items or accept payment upon pick-up.
